surrendered into our program. We offer a 7-day trial adoption period in an effort to give
potential adopters the opportunity to see how the pet will behave in their home environment; and
if things aren’t working out, to return the pet to SWAT with a full refund within that time period.
However, as an all-volunteer organization, SWAT does not have the ability/resources to drive out
and pick up animals that have been adopted outside the local area. While we are still willing to
provide a full refund within the 7-day trial period, it is contingent upon the adopting family
returning the pet to Walla Walla, Washington and into the custody of a SWAT representative.
As an adopting family who lives outside of the local Walla Walla County area, you are agreeing
to the following:
1. If I decide not to adopt the pet within the 7-day trial period, I understand that the refund of
my adoption fee is contingent upon my returning the pet to Walla Walla, WA and into the
custody of a SWAT representative. If I refuse or am unable to return the pet for any reason to
Walla Walla, I acknowledge that I am taking full responsibility for the pet, and my adoption
paperwork and fee will be processed accordingly.
2. At any time after I have adopted a pet from SWAT, if circumstances are such that I can no
longer keep the pet, I agree to contact SWAT first before turning the animal over to a humane
society or shelter, to give SWAT the opportunity to retrieve the animal before it is put into a
shelter situation. I understand in this instance that I will not receive a refund of any kind
from SWAT.
