Support for SWAT comes from individuals, organizations and businesses who form independent teams. These teams choose if they want to provide temporary foster homes, animal training, adoption day organization, fund raisers, administrative assistance or anything helpful that suits a person or groups' personal skills.

Memberships are renewed annually and are currently from September 15 of one year to September 14 of the following year.

SWAT member Louise Lynch worked with Dan Givens (pictured, left) and Craig Potter (pictured, right), co-owners of Mr. Ed's Restaurant, to coordinate a fundraiser selling smoked pork and turkey in March 2008.  The fundraiser raised over $640 for SWAT.

In addition, in honor of her mother, Louise donated the cost of the meat to SWAT, bringing the fundraiser total to almost $1800.

In Fall 2006, Patron NW Farm Supply offered SWAT a prominent space for a permanent cat adoption facility in its Walla Walla store.  SWAT member Matt Ricks (pictured, left), along with fellow Walla Walla firefighter Ed Swanson (pictured, right) and Bill Barber of Barber Construction, donated their time to construct the cat cage from materials generously donated from Builders Supply and Cost Less Carpet.

Through the combined efforts of these volunteers and local businesses, the "Kitty Clubhouse" was completed and has been an extremely effective means of showcasing and adopting out surrendered and stray cats and kittens.
